Simulation for Safety
The core expertise of ECA Faros is to develop low cost PC based driving simulator and flight training simulators.
Embedded in innovative training solutions, simulators enable civil or military organizations to cost effectively train individually or collectively Car, Truck, Bike driver’s fleets and Aviation pilots and maintenance crews.
Founded in 1986, Faros was a pioneer in exploring the world of PC/AT based technology that had very limited graphic capability. It set the culture of the company (that still remains) to efficiently use the CPU capacity. As such, Faros is still recognized today as one of the few companies offering the unmatched state of the art IHM and dynamic graphic quality devices.
R&D efforts were paid off by entering the simulation aviation market through a collaboration with Airbus Industries development of a PC Based FMS, the first PC based Part task trainer available on the market in 1992.
In 1992, Faros moved to Lannion, Brittanny, West part of France at the heart of the French Telecom valley, where the major blue chips companies have their R&D Facilities
In 1994, Faros has been expending its operation in entering the automotive driving simulator market. Faros was the first company in the world at introducing a PC based interactive training content with inbuilt training controls and assessment features. Faros has the largest worldwide installed based of driving simulators with a subsidiary in US, Simulators Systems International (http://www.simulatorsystems.com/)
Since 2006, Faros is now part of the ECA Group (www.ecagroup.com), having the Simulation expertise for the all Group activities. ECA Faros has a significant portfolio of simulators for the aviation and automotive training industries. ECA Faros contributes at making the world cleaner and safer by developing innovative simulators.
